Fall 2014

In partnership with Dominican University, the County of Marin will offer a customized Leadership Development Academy beginning September 12 and concluding on December 12. The class size will be limited to 30 participants.

When will the Leadership Academy be held?

All classes (except for the last on December 12) are a full 8-hour day. Listed below are the class dates:

  • September 12, 19, 21
  • October 10, 17, 22
  • November 7, 14, 21
  • December 5 and 12

Participants are required to attend all classes in order to obtain a certificate. We will be requesting a commitment from each participant to meet this requirement.

Where will the classes be held?

All classes will be taught on the campus of Dominican University in San Rafael. The locations will vary from class to class and participants will be informed of classroom locations prior to the class.

How can I learn more about the Leadership Academy?

The Leadership Academy Design Team is made up of 10 Marin employees who completed the program at Dominican.  They are hosting two Information Sessions to answer questions and share their experiences. The schedule is below:

  • 1 session in the Board of Supervisors Chambers (Room 330):  June 2 - 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
  • 1 session at the 120 North Redwood Campus (Room E212): June 5 - 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

The Design Team is passionate about this program and as their time allows, any member of the group would be happy to talk with interested employees. The team includes Linda Dahl, Don Wick, Teresa Tillman, Jason Weber, Tom Lai, Heather Ravani, Cristine Alilovich, Rwena Holaday, Chris Mai and Joanne Peterson.

How can I be considered for the Leadership Academy?

All interested employees will need to submit an Application by completing the Application to Leadership Academy Form on the home page of the MINE (http://mine/) and submit it electronically by the close of business on June 27. If you do not have internet access, please contact Nick Parrish at 473.2908 for assistance.

The application will ask interested employees to provide a one page response to 3 questions regarding their personal development and career path. In addition, each applicant will need to obtain a letter of support from their supervisor that has been endorsed by their department head.

Fall 2013

  • April 6, 18 and 20
